How will the John Edwards affair affect the Democratic Party’s chances at the White House?

Question by merilyn kerschner: How will the John Edwards affair affect the Democratic Party’s chances at the White House?
For those of you who don’t know, John Edwards admitted today that he had an extramarital affair with a former campaign video producer in 2006. He continuously lied about the affair throughout his campaign, calling it false and tabloid trash. In your opinion, what impact (if any) will this revelation have on the Democrats as they try to retake the White House?

None whatsoever. John Edwards is sooooooo yesterday. The guy is now a non-entity in the democratic party.

That is extremely old news, including his admittance. Why are you ignoring the much higher numbers of Republicans guilty of the same thing?

This is 2010….the Edwards affair is very old news. Perhaps you missed the affairs of the republicans. Vitters and his ladies of the evening or Ensign and the pay-off to the husband of his mistress. And then there is the governor of South Carolina who was absent claiming to be hiking in the mountain in this country…but he was actually visiting his mistress in another country. But that is the republican party. Then there is the more extreme arm called the tea party. The tea party candidates ranted against the health care…yet when newly elected tea party darling Andy Harris of Maryland was sworn in and was told he could not get health care until February, he whined and cried. Seems that health care that he campaigned against is exactly what HE wanted. The republicans and the teabaggers are making fools out of the American people.

    No effect.

Americans are too smart to judge an entire party based on one man’s poor choices.
