Question by Kajori69: What is the likelihood of another hurrican in PR over labor day weekend?
As everyone knows Irene just went by and lots of cheap flights to Puerto Rico over labor day weekend. How far in advance will forecasters know if another one will come by. The 10-day forecast shows good weather for 2nd september but how can I be sure?

as was said, you cant be sure…..two weeks is plenty of time for a low to come off Africa nd get to the Caribbean with a name attached….

but the chances are slim…..come on down!

Not sure. Check the NOOA website for weather information.

Considering everything was “normal” Friday and now Tuesday I’ve spent the past two days w/o power or water due to tropical storm Irene becoming a category 1 hurricane while it was over the island I’d say the 10 day forecast isn’t the best weather predictor. these systems develop suddenly and you never know when they may strike. some miss us some dont, there’s no way to tell. and they can come one right after the other, as it has happened before, so the chances are greater than “slim to none”. good luck.
