im a 12 yr old girl and i live in monmouth county and im sooooo scared this is my first hurricane too! my mom said that nothing bad is going to happen and its just gonna be a category 1 which isnt so bad so your hometown is gonna be fine.
We’re pretty much screwed. No hurricane of this strength has ever hit NJ in the past. I’m boarding up my house and getting the hell out of here lol. Personally I have insurance so idc what happens in my town, but its still a serious threat. The worst is the possibility of a storm surge flooding everything and destroying everything like in Japan. Cheers!
im 13 too. im in long island and everyone is getting calls for evacuation. It might cause serious damage.
Tips on what to do: Pack extra clothes, water hygiene stuff, batteries, cell phone valuable items too. i would prepare for the worst
On your windows take duck tape and make a big X across them with it, so the windows wont shatter, go in a room with no windows. Im leaving to go to pittsburg.

We aren’t screwed and this is not the worse NJ has ever seen from a Hurricane. There was a bad one in 1944, I believe it was the same as the one we are getting. Just if your prepared and you stay inside you should be fine.
It’s my first hurricane, too. NJ never really gets hurricanes. News and articles on the internet say that the storm will be a category 2 hurricane. We will get winds up to 100 mph. Trees will get uprooted and their will be a lot of power outages. We will get flooding and lots of rain. I’m sure your hometown won’t be destroyed, they’ll just be damage. Be prepared.
