It is amazing to consider that General Motors could have been the corporate force behind companies like Tesla and the technology that drives it into the public’s consciousness. Had they pulled their collective heads out of their asses in 1970 (if not sooner!) they might not have ever taken such a gargantuan fall from prominence in the decades to follow.
All sucess to Tesla and their investors!

  20. cwwiss1 says:

so how far will it go at night with the lights and the climate control on? I’m assuming it has got things like climate control, power steering, electric windows etc

  21. halcyon0830 says:

These cars use Lithium-ion. Lithium-ion batteries are expensive for a reason. The resources to produce them are limited and the longevity is even more limited. Which means they need constant replacement. Replacing an item that’s scarce drives up the cost.
BTW, How is Electricity produced? At the coal fired plants, the nuclear (Waste) plants, and fossil-fuel burning power generation plants.
These cars add pollution & tremendous amounts of electricity that the world is already using & paying for.

  25. BelieveNoGod says:

Sadly the oil companies have the money to buy all inovative new science, so they can squeeze us for our hard earned cash, many years to come.
Maybe they own the electrical power companies ? If not yet, maybe soon.
Then we will have to pay just as much to drive the same mileage. :(

  41. D0li0 says:

That video clip needs some ominous “the Teslas are prowling the neighborhood” background music! Then it could lighten up when the last one high fives “the guy walking by”, as you realize. It’s ok, it’s not a scary exotic car gang, they are all clean and quiet electric vehicles, queue birds twittering.
